John Paul is having vivid dreams about Craig -- but will his dreams come true?
INTERIOR – THE DOG IN THE POND. (Craig has been showing increasing signs of jealousy and mocking the S Club Seven dance that Spike did at the McQueen’s.)CRAIG: Hey. Nice to see Spike’s smarming his way into the Mcqueen household.
JOHN PAUL: I’m happy if that’s what you mean.
CRAIG: Come on, John Paul, it’s all a bit clichéd, isn’t it?
JOHN PAUL: How do you mean?
CRAIG: Well, it’s just so…. camp
JOHN PAUL(John Paul laughs.): Is something wrong?
CRAIG: No. It’s just a bit, well you know, it’s just a bit cosy and pink.
JOHN PAUL: Oh, please! I thought we’d got over this…. this homophobic thing.
CRAIG: Look, we used to hang out, you know, play footy, do lads’ stuff.
JOHN PAUL: So?
CRAIG: So…. When did you come so gay, man?
JOHN PAUL: Can you tell me what the problem is, or what?
CRAIG: I just…. Well I don’t get to see you without HIM any more.
JOHN PAUL: Yes you do.
CRAIG: No. I mean there
was a time we were…. we were close, right? And then…. and then we didn’t see each other so much. And I…. I understand why. That was my fault. But, you know I just thought, maybe…. maybe…. you know….
JOHN PAUL: So?
CRAIG: So…. When did you come so gay, man?
JOHN PAUL: Can you tell me what the problem is, or what?
CRAIG: I just…. Well I don’t get to see you without HIM any more.
JOHN PAUL: Yes you do.
CRAIG: No. I mean there
was a time we were…. we were close, right? And then…. and then we didn’t see each other so much. And I…. I understand why. That was my fault. But, you know I just thought, maybe…. maybe…. you know….JOHN PAUL: Craig – Spike’s my boyfriend. I don’t…. I don’t begrudge you spending time with Sarah, do I?
CRAIG: Don’t you?
JOHN PAUL: No, I don’t. Look, I used to really fancy you, yeh, but…. you haven’t got to worry about that any more. Right, I’ve…. I’ve grown up a lot since then. (John
Paul stands and goes over to hug Spike who has emerged from the toilet. Craig stares at the loving pair with seething resentment.)
Craig is in exam but he can't stop thinking about JP and Spike.
CRAIG: Don’t you?
