136 - Last appearance of JP 20.10.08

JP : (to Myra) « "Since I found the courage to live my life."
"In Dublin, I am not John paul McQueen, the gay brother, I'm just me."

 

Mercy : "You're lucky to have found someone, you know. Don't let that go."
JP: "I won't".
So lovely that he is going back to Craig and that his last words were "I love you, Mum."

And Jp goes to Dublin, living his life with Craig

135 - JP's return. Niall and the aftermath oct 08

John Paul returns on 16 October 2008 when Niall kidnaps him and the rest of his family. When Myra is finally re-united with her daughters in St Eustace church, 

Niall reveals he has also kidnapped John 

Paul and brings him out to join his family. He gives Myra six questions for her six children, promising to kill a child for every question she gets wrong. Myra manages to get two right by luck and has to pick four children to do. John Paul bravely tells his mother that he loves her and then offers himself up for sacrifice, as does his sister Mercedes. Carmel and Jacqui are also chosen to die. However, Niall shocks the family further when he reveals that he has killed Kieron. 

Before he can do anything else, Jack and Darren arrive to rescue the McQueens, and in the chaos Niall detonate the explosives, with the whole family still inside.

After the explosion, Niall begins to feel guilty for putting his mother through such a traumatic experience and begins to try and help her, but John Paul, vengeful against Niall for all he has done, turns up, prepared to kill him. When Niall is trying to lift some debris that is trapping Myra, John Paul appears with an improvised weapon and threatens him. Niall 

manages to convince him to help him shift the debris, though, but afterwards John Paul resumes arguing with him. 

Their argument is cut short when an angel statue falls 

towards them. Niall pushes John Paul and Myra out of the way, 

saving their lives, but apparently crushes himself in the process. While all of this is going on Jack, Darren, Tony and 

Dominic work as hard as they can to save the rest of the McQueens. However, when everyone else makes it out safely Dom comes out carrying Tina's body leaving the family heartbroken. Though at the end of the episode and unknown to everyone else, Niall's reflection in the window of an ambulance is apparent, thus proving that he is still 

alive.

John Paul decides to return to Dublin immediately, rather than stay for Tina's funeral, believing that he cannot stay in Hollyoaks because too much has happened to him there and he needs to continue his new life.

134 - Sunset Ending 19.09.08 p.2

John Paul makes it to the platform just as the train is leaving, he is angry and very upset, but looks across the platforms and sees Craig at another platform! They rush into an embrace :)






JP: Craig, you've got no idea how much you've hurt me. So I just wanted to say to you, you know, before you walk out of my life forever, that I wouldn't have missed any of it for the world.
Craig: What?
JP: I don't know how we keep finding ourselves here, I really don't. But the one thing that I do know, the one thing that i'm sure of is that I love you. I really love you and...

Craig: You are coming with me to Dublin, right? You're not just gonna see me off?
JP: Yes. If you want me to.

Craig: I love you, John Paul McQueen.
JP: Why wouldn't ya?













John Paul and Craig board the train hand in hand. 

While the train leaves Craig tells John Paul that when they get to Dublin, John Paul must tell everyone he is Craig's cousin Steve. John Paul looks at Craig in exasperation and Craig smiles, tells him he was joking and they ride the train away while cuddling with each other.  Craig: Oh er, by the way when we get to Dublin if anyone asks you're my cousin Steve.  Everyone thinks i'm straight. JP: What?! Craig: I'm messin'.

Craig: Oh er, by the way when we get to Dublin if anyone asks you're my cousin Steve. Everyone thinks i'm straight.
JP: What?!
Craig: I'm messin'.

133 - Babe I've loved u long time 19.09.08 p.1

John Paul falls asleep for a short while and when he wakes feels weak, but he still decides to meet Craig. Niall gets up to stop him but finds himself feeling dizzy, it turns out that John Paul had accidentally spilt Niall's beer and replaced it with his unintentionally drugging Niall. Niall makes John Paul leave quickly while he runs to the bathroom to vomit.
Craig is waiting for JP and he's sad cos Jp hasnt come yet.





John Paul runs to The Dog with his bag and misses Craig by half an hour. He returns home and asks his mother what Kieron would have done. She says the he should never regret not doing something and this causes him to rush to the train station where Craig is getting the train to the Airport

132 - Perfect Love Drives Out Fear 18.09.08

Craig is waiting and waiting for JP to come.

Kieron (VO): And there is no fear in love. Perfect love drives out fear because fear is punishment and it has no place in perfect love.

Niall: Unconditional love. No matter what you do, you always love each other.

JP: You can find it, you know.

Hannah: You and John Paul are perfect for each other. I think if we'd have all been more honest from the start we would have realised that.

Craig: I told myself that if he wanted me, he'd come. He hasn't.

JP: Maybe i've loved Craig all along. When i'm with him it's like nothing can hurt me, nobody can touch me. It's, it's...

JP: Yeah.

John Paul and Niall talk about Niall's problems with Steph and John Paul's dilemma with Craig and handling Kieron's death. Meanwhile, Craig has left a voicemail message on John Paul's phone asking him to meet him outside The Dog and give him his decision on whether he will leave with Craig or not. Niall gets to 

John Paul phone while he's in another room and deletes the message. While talking about their problems, John Paul tells Niall he's going to go and meet Craig and tell him that he still loves him. Niall persuades John Paul to have a drink first and employs the same tactic as he used on Kieron and pours pills into John Paul's beer. Jp falls asleep..

131 - I know what I want 17.09.08

The McQueens say their goodbyes to Keiron in their own special way... and John Paul and Craig meet and talk...

JP: I'll be sad to see you go, you know?
Craig: I'll be sad to leave...leave you anyway.
JP: You coped without me for this long.
Craig: Just. The more time passed the more I realised I shouldn't have left without you.

Craig: I've changed. I know what I want now.
JP: It's too late. We've had our moment.
--
Craig: Look, we're mates, okay? I'd rather have it that way then not see you at all.

JP: Is it my fault? Am I responsible?
Craig: No. Not at all.
